Jakarta: The growth of e-commerce is accelerating and can drive the expansion of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
As is well known, MSMEs have a significant contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and job creation in Indonesia. However, challenges such as access to financing, human resources, market trends, and digital access remain major obstacles.
Vice President of Government Affairs at Lazada, Budi Primawan, stated that MSMEs can grow and advance with the support of a stable macroeconomic environment.
Additionally, this needs to be accompanied by the availability of facilities or support from the government, banks, or other businesses.
In the context of the digital economy, every entrepreneur in Indonesia, from MSMEs to brand owners, is given the same opportunity to develop and strengthen their businesses by utilizing e-commerce platforms.
“By joining a marketplace, MSMEs gain many benefits. The most important is the larger customer potential compared to just offline business. Additionally, the availability of digital payments makes transactions easier using e-wallets,” Budi said in a written statement on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
